Paula Abdul to Leave American Idol

Word is out that Paula Abdul will be leaving American Idol.
Mark my words, this is a jump-the-shark moment for the show.
Kara, the obvious pseudo-Paula, has proven herself more clueless than the departing Straight Up girl. Paula’s weakness is overly praising contestants, but she’s not without a clue, somewhere down deep, and at least she’s honest in her daffiness. Kara is simply hopeless, and downright unlikeable. Plus she embarrassed the show with the “No Boundaries” crapfest that was eventually dropped from the Idol tour.
Idol’s immediate answer? Guest judges. Now, I like me some guest judges, but the first two they’re rolling out are Katy Perry and Posh Spice. Katy… okay, she’s interesting because she’s got some relatively current hits, but let’s be honest, she’s not especially talented (she’s benefited from a couple of catchy/controversial songs, but had anybody actually listened to a live performance, beyond the pin-up girl act?) and Posh opens the season as the Who-The-F-even-cares front runner for the entire Fox season.
Posh Spice? Really?
That sound you hear is Seacrest making sure his checks cash before the show tanks.
